Quanto maior a exposição ao Inglês, melhor.  Muita gente acredita que o fato de assistir filmes em Inglês  sem legendas é bom para o aprendizado do idioma, porém é necessário que se tem algum conhecimento da língua.  Aos alunos iniciantes, a dica é assistir filmes em Inglês com legendas em Inglês, desde que o aluno já o tenha assistido anteriormente, caso contrário nada entenderá do filme.  O pouco que o aluno entenderá é devido a associação de imagens do filme com o que é falado ou apresentado. A aprendizagem dá-se através da associação do que é visto com o contexto falado, e das habilidades de ouvir e entender. Ao assistir um filme em Inglês com legendas em  Inglês, para um aluno com nível intermediário de Inglês, é possível trabalhar a compreensão auditiva, tentando entender o que é falado com a ajuda da legenda.
